1859     earns MD, practices as a military doctor in the Prussian army in the Franco-Prussian war

1871     stationed in Spandau

1880     promoted to colonel, stationed in Breslau

1886     appointed lecturer at the university of Breslau

1890     promoted to professor

1894     collecting expedition to Turkey
