Biography

1874     earns PhD at the University of Lund, in Sweden, and is appointed docent for Botany

1875     goes to the University of Stockholm, in a capacity I have been unable to discover

carries on experiments in plant physiology in the agricultural academy there

1885     appointed professor and director of the plant physiology division

1913     retires from his position

Eriksson discovered physiological races in rusts, and spent his life working on fungal diseases of agricultural plants. His book on them was a standard and widely used textbook.
