Biography
1914 worked in various military laboratories, in the field, studying bacteriology
1918 studies medicine and natural history in Berlin and Würzburg
1921 graduates from the University of Würzburg, teaches at the Institute for the Study of the Physiology of Fermentation, at the Agriculture Hochschule at Freising bei München
1923 appointed assistant (in 1925 lecturer, in 1932 professor) at the Botanic Institute of the University of Rostock
1947 appointed the director of the Institute for Plant Ecology at the Griffinswood University (Universität Greifswald)
1951 promoted to professor of systematic botany
Bauch concentrated on the life-histories and genetics of rusts and smuts, and also on the genetics of yeast.
