Tylopilus eximius

Back to the Eleanor Yarrow Index

This mushroom has the dark pinkish-brown spores (which can be seen beginning to color the pore surface on the underside of the cap) and dark overall colors that are typical of the genus Tylopilus. Here, the color scheme is "some shade of purplish brown", from the tiny scales on the stem to the color of the cap.
