Tremella reticulata

Back to the Eleanor Yarrow Index

This is the largest jelly fungus we have in North America. It grows on the ground, and as it becomes duller and drier, it may be mistaken for a coral fungus, or Tremellodendron pallidum. Note that this is not the Cloud Fungus eaten as a chinese dessert. That is Tremella fuciformis, a much smaller fungus that grows on tree branches (which is also found in North America).
