Resupinatus applicatus

Back to the Eleanor Yarrow Index

Resupinatus applicatus is an unusual gilled mushroom in that it grows on the underside of logs where, being black, it is apt to be overlooked. Note also that it has no stem; instead the gills radiate from the cap's point of direct attachment to the wood.
