Two great discoveries: the parasitic zygomycete with 3 names - - Tremella mycetophila, Christiansenia, Syzygospora. Tremella is the old name - because the dummies thought it was a true jelly. Then someone named it after the guru Christian, then my buddy Ginza found there were 3 spp. - the one on Collybia dryophila he named Syzygospora dryophila. Sheldon/Gary found a zapped colony at the Greenlawn cemetery with a zillion zapped caps. I got good photos.

(Ed. note I was going to give Sam this list of finds from a 7/21 gathering near Bethel, but I missed the next walks. Here's the list - Sam may have some comments for the next issue. Hypomyces lactifluorum, Russula brevipes, Suillus pictus, Suillus granulatus, Boletus sensibilis, Entoloma spp., chanterelles, Hygrophorus spp., Amanita muscaria, Stereum hirsute, Trametes versicolor, Favolus alveolaris, couple of tiny oysters, Gyroporus cyanescens, Tylopilus chromapes, Tylopilus felleus, red russulas, Laccaria amethystina, Russula fragrantissima, Tricholomopsis platyphylla, Amanita rubescens, Hydnellum aurantiacum, Daedalea quercina, Boletinellus merulioides, Lactarius camphoratus, Boletus ornatipes, Suillus americanus, Boletus bicolor, Calvatia gigantea (which we sliced up and shared), Mycena leaiana.)

Great togetherness. Too much food, good workshops! I gave my slime mold slide show. Had a nice exhibit of my mylar spore arts.
