Pat (at right in the photo) is a postdoc mycologist at the Field Museum of Natural History. Although he has a good shot at knowing just about any organism you might find in the forest, he is a specialist in the genusLactarius, as you can see by the URL of his website, below. It's always wonderful to have him along on a foray, because then we are assured of finding out what are mushrooms are.
