1738 ordained a priest in Cambrai; heads a Catholic school in Winchester
1764 elected to Royal Society
1767 head of the English Seminary in Paris
1768 - 1769 director of the Literary Society in Brussels
Needham's microscopic work led him to discover several fungi that live on insects.
