1929 earns PhD from Budapest University
works at Budapest National Museum during WWII
1945 killed in Austria by Allied bombing
Gyelnik published ~100 papers proposing 1307 new names for various lichens. As you might imagine, not everyone was happy about this. There is a photo of him, and a sample of his handwriting at the website listed below.
