Biography

1738     ordained a priest in his home state of Rimini, begins studying geometry, physics and natural history

1741 - 1745     teaches philosophy in a seminary in Savignano (in Rimini)

1757     appointed teacher in philosophy at a public school

In his Fungorum agri Ariminensis historia, Battara describes about 250 taxa of fungi in "a systematic Flora of great originality." ( Dörfelt & Heklau)
